The ranking recognises Anansi’s regulated last-mile insurance. It pays retailers in cash for lost and damaged parcels and uses claims data to tackle the causes of delivery failure.
London, 19 October 2026: Anansi, the delivery resilience platform for retailers and logistics businesses, has once again been named in BusinessCloud’s InsurTech 50 for 2026. The annual ranking recognises UK companies creating original technology for insurance advice, products and claims.
The recognition highlights a cost most retailers have learned to absorb. When a parcel goes missing or arrives damaged, the retailer refunds the customer in full. Courier compensation is often capped, usually at £15 to £25, and frequently arrives as credit against future shipping rather than cash. Add the hours spent chasing claims and the errors buried in courier invoices, and the last mile becomes a steady drain on margin.
Anansi was built to close that gap. Its cover is regulated and backed by Lloyd’s. It refunds up to the full retail value of a lost or damaged parcel and pays 100% of valid claims, in cash, weekly or monthly. Claims are filed automatically, courier invoices are checked against agreed rates, and the data behind every claim shows retailers where and why deliveries are failing.
Megan Bingham-Walker, CEO and Founder of Anansi, said:
“Retailers have been told for years that losing money in the last mile is the cost of doing business. It isn’t. When a parcel goes missing, the retailer refunds the customer in full and is lucky to get a fraction of that back, usually as credit. We built Anansi to put that money back in retailers’ hands.
“Paying valid claims quickly is only the start. Every claim tells you something: which courier, which postcode, which product. Used properly, that data exposes fraud, holds couriers to account and cuts the number of failures in the first place. That’s what insurance was designed to do.
“Being named in the InsurTech 50 matters to us because it shows the insurance industry sees what we see. Insurance can make a business run better, and the last mile is where retailers need it most.”
Anansi integrates with more than 1,400 couriers. Its platform combines regulated loss and damage cover with automated claims, invoice financial reconciliation, and independent last-mile performance insights.
BusinessCloud’s InsurTech 50 celebrates businesses of all sizes creating original technology for insurance advice, products and claims.
“The insurance industry is becoming ever smarter through innovation as ambitious companies augment how it is bought, sold and delivered,” said Jonathan Symcox, editor, BusinessCloud.
“AI-enabled technologies are now central to areas such as underwriting and risk management, while products are becoming more flexible and customisable by the year.
“It’s a pleasure to shine a light on the InsurTech companies of all sizes selected by our readers and judges.”
The final ranking combined BusinessCloud reader votes with selections from an expert judging panel, following a 92-company shortlist. The judges were Paul Lucas, global editor for insurance at Key Media; Paddy Goodlet, head of FinTech M&A, corporate finance, at KPMG UK; Gary Fenemore-Schenk, tax director at S&W; Kateryna Halkina, senior business development manager at IDnow; and Jonathan Symcox, editor at BusinessCloud.
